Motivation - Techniques To Increase Your Motivation

Motivation is one of the seemingly most important personal attributes to have in our modern civilization. It seems that most people are trying to get more motivated in order to achieve more in their daily lives.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with trying to get more motivated, however there are a number of techniques you can use to actively increase your motivation.

This is especially true if there are a number of tasks that you feel you want to do yet you feel that sense that you don't have the motivation to get them done.

Motivation - increase your motivation by aligning with what you love

So how do you increase your motivation?

Well, the first step is to realize that there really isn't anything you can do to authentically increase your motivation. For example, if you are in alignment with what it is you are doing then there is no need to motivate yourself to do it.

The reason for this is that when you are in alignment with what it is you are doing then you will naturally be motivated to do it. It is as though you will just want to start working on your project as soon as you wake up when it is in alignment with what you are wanting to do.

Motivation - motivate yourself from within

So if you are having trouble motivating yourself to complete a task, the first step is to ask yourself whether this is in alignment with what you are on the planet to do.

Personally I find there are a lot of people who are doing things in life that are not in alignment with what they are here to do. No wonder they have a hard time to motivate themselves to do the tasks they 'should' do.

In order to find out what it is you are on the planet to do, the first step is to go within and ask your heart center if this task is what it wants to do.

To listen to the subtle voice of your heart you will need to firstly silence your mind. We all have a little voice within our head that drowns out the subtle voice of the heart. For example, it may be saying 'Little voice? What little voice? I don't have a little voice!'

Well, that is the little voice.

When you silence this voice within your mind and enter into a sense of no-mind then you are in the right space to listen to the softer voice of your hear. You can then tap into the wisdom of your heart to see if you are in alignment with the task you are having trouble motivating yourself to do.

So once you are in a state of no-mind, the next step is to place your attention and awareness on your heart center. This is located right in the middle of your breast bone and is about the size of a golf ball.

As you place your attention on your heart center, you can then ask it questions. Using your inner voice, you can simply ask your heat center questions around the task you are having trouble motivating yourself to do.

Personally I find 'What' questions are a good place to start, such as:

'What should I do about this task?'

'What do you want me to do?'

'What are you trying to tell me?'

After you ask these questions to your heart center, the next step is to simple listen to the messages your heart is giving you.

The voice of the heart is a lot more subtle and a lot more gentle than the voice within your head. The voice within the head will usually use a lot of words, however the voice within your heart will generally use only a few words at a time.

So after you ask these questions around the tasks you feel you are having a lack of motivation around then just spend some time listening to your heart. This stage is more about listening rather then talking.

You will probably find if you are not motivated to do the tasks that your heart will say things like:

'I don't want you to do this.' or perhaps 'Take your time and go slower.'

You can see here that the voice of the heart is simple, direct and to the point.

When you tap into your heart it will give you clear messages around the task you are not motivated to do. Then it is a matter of bravely obeying the message within your heart.

For example, if the message from your heart is to drop the task then it will probably take courage to let go of the project you are working on. However if you to choose to drop the project then you will probably notice there is a larger sense of spaciousness within your life.

It is this spaciousness that will allow more tasks to come into your life.

Within this spaciousness it is important to only take on tasks that are in alignment with what your heart wants you to do. For when you are in alignment with what your heart wants you to do then your life begins to come into alignment.

When you are in alignment with what your heart wants you to do then there is no need to increase your motivation because you are naturally doing what you are on the planet to do.
